The angel of light. Lucifer is the messenger of God with special talents. He is often seen with wings and an appearance of light, with a beautiful face and human-like figure. He is described in the Bible as having authority over "all that are in the heavens" (Revelation 12:7) and is also described as setting his throne above the stars (Isaiah 14:13). He has an understanding of things that are not yet created (Luke 10:18), and his name means "bringer of light" or "light bearer" in Hebrew (Isaiah 14:12). He is also called Satan or Satanas in some translations, but this is generally interpreted by Christians to mean "enemy"
His symbol in Christianity is a six-pointed star called the Seal of Solomon, which many people believe is related to Freemasonry. Lucifer was originally considered to be one of the three persons of the Trinity along with God the Father and God the Son. The names 'Lucifer' and 'Satan' are closely linked, however, as 'Satan' may be a translation from the Hebrew word for 'adversary' - meaning a person who opposes another person. In other words, Lucifer could mean 'the one who opposes'.
Some believe that Lucifer was originally a good angel who became jealous of Jesus Christ and wanted to take his place on earth. He did not succeed, however, and he was cast from heaven into hell. Lucifer later became an archangel, but he did not become ruler of heaven because he fell from grace.
In Christianity he is considered to be one of the fallen angels who rebelled against God. In The Secret History of Hell by Joseph Blumenfeld it says that when Jesus performed exorcisms on thousands upon thousands of demons at various times throughout his ministry, he did not have to use holy oil or incense or holy water because he had already vanquished all devils in a war that took place long before Jesus came into the world! He concludes that if Jesus had not been victorious over all demons in this war, they would have been able to possess people without their knowledge! This could explain why so many people have been possessed by demons throughout history! In Pagan Theology Lucifer corresponds with Buddha Sakyamuni himself - their main difference being Buddha Sakyamuni never had any knowledge about Jesus Christ or his crucifixion; whereas Lucifer knew all about it!
